In September and October when Summersville Lake has its annual drawdown, Gauley Season begins. This year, it starts on September 5th and will run through October 19, the day after Bridge Day . Gauley Season means tremendous, frothing Gauley River rafting that river lovers travel far and wide to do. Here, at Pillow Rock Rapid, spectators watch a raft get high up on the pillow.
